Spotify has responded to criticism over their motion to appeal the Copyright Royalty Board.
A controversial ruling by the U.S. Copyright Royalty Board that, if it goes through, would increase payouts to songwriters by 44% is being challenged by Spotify, Google, Pandora and Amazon. The four companies all filed with the court separately but are being condemned collectively by songwriters. Spotify has issued a response to criticism: “We’re not suing songwriters.”
